ARTIST STATEMENT:
The show EGO DEATH is about me creating from a more emotional mental space, capturing how a psychological death feels. The two main characters of the show are EGO, which is the more Earth tone mushroom, and EGO DEATH, which is the bright yellow more pop mushroom. These almost alien like beings offer me the opportunity to really travel to those deep levels within my mind space. It's really all about transformation; breaking yourself down to the point of no return and embedding your mind within current awareness. It is always there, but you can't reach that place unless you experience those ego checks. Each piece is locking my real moments up in a canvas for everyone to see. It has made me a better person than before by forcing myself to live in the present and actually appreciate what I would have ignored a year ago.
