Blowing bubbles and playing with sidewalk chalk were inspirations for this design. The youthfulness and freshness of the colors and fluidity of the circular shapes is something I hope brings people a sense of happiness and hopefulness in its most simple form. One of the major components of my work is to abstractly address the world around us with shapes, patterns, and colors that exist in organized chaos. UBBLES |

There is little to differentiate between being focused and having tunnel vision, however, having tunnel vision is oftentimes seen as a negative. The piece “Tunnel Division” is my interpretation of being able to break down and divide your tunnel vision and having your blinders removed in order to remain focused on reaching the goal at hand. Compulsory Monogamy: A social mandate embedded into institutions, societal norms, and laws that requires people to be in a monogamous heterosexual relationship in order to be considered a morally upstanding adult and legitimate member of society. During an exercise on the interaction of color, I used cellophane to play with shapes and shades. The result was a collection of three pieces which explore and represent personal experiences with toxic relationships. This piece in particular conveys the inability to “fit into the box”. The Platonic Solids were discovered by Plato and are defined as any of the five geometric solids whose faces are all identical, regular polygons meeting at the same three-dimensional angles. In Sacred Geometry they are considered to be the building blocks of nature. The cube reflects earth, octahedron is air, tetrahedron is fire, icosahedron is water, and dodecahedron is representative of universe or spirit. Our brains unconsciously relate to this powerful universal language of mathematical ratios, harmonics, and divine proportion. In simply starting each of these paintings with a ruler, compass, and pencil, I witnessed the elegance and balance of this geometry first-hand. My work is currently an examination of the commodification of identity centered on my own disability and insecurity across a range of media. Influenced by contemporary design, branding, and advertising, I co-opt commercial marketing aesthetics to critique the absurdity and self exploitation inherent in the late-capitalist/techno-feudalist concept of the individual as a brand. Hold My Hand is an edition of three bean bags sewn in the shape of my left hand. The shape is a stylized, or “logo-ized,” silhouette of my hand, whose form is the result of a combination of birth defects and medical interventions to correct those defects. Viewers are welcome to gently handle the bean bags, which are filled with plastic pellets like those found in lawn game bean bags as well as weighted blankets. The objects thus present themselves as products designed for comfort and/or recreation despite taking the shape of my hand which is typically considered grotesque in its natural context on my body. My most favorite shape is the star. I have drawn them within my work for as long as I can remember. I was drawn to creating a piece that spoke of the retro vibe of a vintage neon star along a funky strip of bright lights in a postmodern world. Still shining bright within the darkness. As a Florida native, this work is a piece of my ongoing local wildlife series. Within which, I explore my personal relationship with the flora & fauna of the area. Imbued with the aesthetics of the Y2K era, a scene unfolds showcasing the phylum of a digital age. It’s hard to find a more iconic building in our destination than The Don CeSar Hotel. It had always been a lifelong dream of mine to stay there, and in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, I finally pulled the trigger on a much-needed staycation for my 42nd birthday. I had taken hundreds of photos of this beautiful building over the years, but during my stay, I wanted to capture it in a way I had never done before. I took hundreds of photos that weekend, and this was by far my favorite - the view of a guest! Enjoy the view! A DAY AT THE DON |

For years.. many years, I’ve wanted to build a LEGO pyramid. “Stay In Shape” gave me the opportunity to explore and play with this idea. Designing and assembling angles that worked and fit together correctly (I always hated geometry!) was this biggest challenge with this build. After I had the “bones” sturdy and complete, the rest truly was experiment and play! The resulting creation obviously has a bit of an architectural sci-fi vibe – the Pink Frog idea was my husband’s! This piece represents the self healing journey I’ve been on while experiencing a severe creative block. I dove back into the medium with the most beads I’ve ever used and forced myself to face the circles head on. Incorporating found “trash” from walks around our city and parks became the spark I needed to pull the thoughts from my brain into the physical. I’m using the multitude of circles, colors blending from one to the next, to show that the lines of separation from cell to self to whole aren’t so clear cut as I originally thought. The larger is made from the smaller and new plastic transforms the old, but still they are circles all the way down. EVERYTHING BAGEL |

6 faces. 8 corners. 12 edges. 3 billion combinations but only one solution. The straightforward shape and simple design of the Rubik's Cube no doubt bolstered its status as an iconic 80’s toy. While seemingly rudimentary in mechanics this puzzle is hardly child’s play. RUBE CUBE |
